Kathryn & Ian’s wedding celebration at Kurtz Orchards was the most elegant display of sincerity and authenticity. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this day carried a story much bigger than the details (as beautiful as they were). Kathryn & Ian had weathered real distance, real challenges, and real growth to get to this moment - and their film opens with that journey. It’s a story of endurance, faithfulness and a love strengthened through seasons apart. As an American and history buff, one of Ian’s favourite historical figures was President Theodore Roosevelt - and so it felt fitting to open the film in the way that we did.

What struck me the most was how effortlessly their personalities came through in every interaction. Even on one of the hottest days of the summer, Kathryn, Ian and their families were warm, present and joyful. There was a softness in the way their parents spoke about them, and a sense that this wedding wasn’t just a celebration - it was a homecoming after a long road.

The day itself was stunning. Lindsay Plank curated every detail with care, weaving a design that felt refined, intentional and perfectly suited to the natural beauty of Kurtz Orchards. From the ceremony space to the orchard reception, nothing felt out of place.
